A Top Performance Mare from a Celebrated US Damline
A thrilling addition for our breeding program, Special Premium Shurreal is sired by Danish Warmblood Stallion of the Year Sezuan and out of the highly regarded Elite broodmare Rheporter, by Royal Prince. She fits into our philosophy of utilizing mares with absolute top rideability, international quality gaits, good type, and a pedigree backed by competition success. As a three-year-old, Shurreal was overall champion, high score free jumping, and high score under saddle at her GOV mare performance test with a score of 8.05. Her individual scores included a 9 from the test rider, 8.5 walk under saddle, and 8 for canter under saddle.
Shurreal won the Four-Year-Old Mare Materiale class at Dressage at Devon 2018. At Devon 2019, she won the Five-Year-Old Mare Materiale class, was Reserve Champion in the USDF Breeders Championship Five-Year-Old Materiale Final, and won the USDF Breeders Championship Mare Final with an 84.2%. She was USDF Horse of the Year for Second Level in 2020 and USDF Reserve Horse of the Year for 4th Level in 2022. She was also chosen as a demo horse for the Absorbine/NEDA Carl Hester Symposium in 2022. Shurreal was further successful to Prix St. George level prior to breeding duties.
Shurreal has produced two super colts by About You II and Opoque.
In the Pedigree
Sire Sezuan (Zack x Don Schufro) won his 35-day stallion test with ten times the score of 10. As a four-year-old, he was named licensing champion in Denmark and became Danish Young Horse Champion. Under Olympian Dorothee Schneider, Sezuan was World Young Horse Champion as a 5-, 6-, and 7-year-old before showing up to international Small Tour level. He was proclaimed an Elite stallion by the Danish Warmblood Society in 2019 based on his contributions in both sport and breeding. Among his offspring you find the Olympic Silver Medal winning mare Wendy and the Reserve World Young Horse Champion and popular breeding stallion Secret.
The mother Elite Mare Rheporter was Mare Champion, Mature Horse Champion, and Grand Champion at Dressage at Devon in 2011 handled by Quantico's own Quinnten Alston. A nice full circle moment to now have a daughter for use in breeding. Rheporter is also the dam to the approved stallion Shavane, the Special Premium mares Fherrari and Shcooter, the Grand Prix horse Rhustler, and the young stallion MW Virtuous who placed 3rd in the Four-Year-Old Finals at the 2024 U.S. Young Horse Championships.
